Surströmming Party at Sturehof
Surströmming (fermented herring) is a traditional Swedish delicacy that divides opinions—some love it, while others shy away. At Sturehof, we are passionate about surströmming and take pride in hosting Stockholm’s most enjoyable surströmming celebration.
The surströmming party always takes place in August. We transform our entire outdoor seating area into a real herring feast with live music, schnapps, drinking songs, and a festive atmosphere rarely seen in Stockholm's nightlife.

What is served at our surströmming party?
The traditional serving at our surströmming party naturally includes surströmming, flatbread, crispbread, sour cream, red onion, and potatoes.
Of course, this pairs well with beer and schnapps. We highly recommend a sweeter variety of schnapps, as it complements the flavourful fish perfectly.
